This recording presents the oldest instrument preserved which combines the action of the harpsichord and the fortepiano.

The disposition of the instrument, with the harpsichord in the lower keyboard and the

fortepiano in the upper, helps to establish a fluent dialogue where sometimes the harpsichord sings accompanied by the fortepiano and, at other times, the harpsichord echoes the fortepiano.
